The Three Words

Dearest love I need you to know
A boundary at which I did reach
I was nearing it not very long ago
And who knows you may have even guessed it so
The outcome being just three words I’d speak

When these three words are simply expressed
Of feelings that cannot be easily suppressed
Whenever they are used
They cannot be confused
Or taken in lighthearted jest

Their sum total is only of eight characters
But all together the eight weigh a lot
When honestly and truthfully used
The characters become fused
Into a pure and beautiful thought

Dearest what three words would I then speak
Are they words you’d openly accept
They are beyond newness and infatuation
And create a new situation
Which is trust to be given and kept
